Description
An emirate facing the southeastern Arabian Peninsula, the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea. The Sied ruled since 1744. The Oman Bay coast in the northeast is a narrow coastal plain, and the Afdal Mountains run from the northwest to the southeast in the south. There are many deserts in the western and southern areas, which have a tropical climate. Agriculture is prosperous near Niswar in the southern foot of the Akhdar Mountains and the Batayan plains of the Oman Bay, producing dates, grains and fruits.
